Dr. Genevieve Carlton


Genevieve Carlton has a Ph.D in history from Northwestern University. She earned tenure as a history professor at the University of Louisville. An award-winning historian and writer, Genevieve has written multiple scholarly articles and published a book with the University of Chicago Press.

In her current role as a freelance writer and consultant, Genevieve specializes in writing about historical, business, and legal topics. She regularly contributes to All That’s Interesting, BestColleges, and Ranker.

After teaching college students about legal history, worker revolts, and science in the courtroom, she now writes about workers’ rights. At Working Now and Then, Genevieve contributes blog posts and translates complex legal topics to make them accessible to readers.
